Originally from 'punch buggy' where a punch is ministered to the nearest person every Volkswagon sighting, in which a punch becomes a slap and Volkswagon becomes taxi. Or anything which attaches itself to an existing idea, particularly a joke, which does not meet up to the same standard as the original: 'A pinch and a punch for the first of the month - A hit and a kick for being so quick'. That's a bit of a slap taxi, don't you think? OR 'Scrappy Doo was a bit of a slap taxi, don't you think?'
