a type of madness brought on by the hot humid weather / or a form of architecture designed for the hot, humid conditions: People go troppo during the build up; The house is a troppo design.

Contributor's comments: Also associated ... the wet season.

Contributor's comments: Prevalent Townsville area in 60's; had only otherwise encountered it in John O'grady's book(s). Was also used with 'gone loco' which seemed to mean the same. Thought it was originally spelt with one 'p' as being used to refer to madness brought on by excessive sun in the tropics.

Contributor's comments: We heard and used the expression "troppo" all the time when we lived in Derby WA in the early 90's as in "gone troppo" or "going troppo".
